State Registration Disclosures

Overview

Muckraker Foundation, Inc. is incorporated in the State of Florida. The disclosures below are provided pursuant to applicable state charitable-solicitation laws and to give donors the information they need to verify our registration and review our financial filings.

Florida

Other states

Muckraker Foundation, Inc. is currently registered to solicit charitable contributions only in the State of Florida. Residents of other jurisdictions remain free to make voluntary contributions, but Muckraker Foundation does not actively solicit donations outside of Florida and is not registered as a charitable organization in any other state. As we expand our registration to additional states, the disclosures required by those states will be added to this page.

Federal tax-exempt status

Muckraker Foundation, Inc. has applied to the Internal Revenue Service for recognition as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Final determination is pending. Contributions are not currently tax-deductible. If the IRS approves our application, deductibility will generally apply retroactively to our date of incorporation in accordance with IRS rules.

Recurring donations

If you elect a recurring monthly gift, your payment method will be charged once per calendar month, on the same calendar day as your initial donation, in the amount you specified at signup. Recurring charges continue until you cancel. To cancel or modify a recurring gift, email support@muckraker.org or reply to any donation receipt; we will act on your request within a reasonable period after receiving it. Each charge will post to your bank or credit-card statement, and you may also instruct your financial institution to reverse any debit.

Refunds

If you believe a donation was made in error or wish to request a refund, please contact us at support@muckraker.org within thirty (30) days of the original charge. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis at Muckraker Foundation's discretion. Recurring donations may be canceled at any time and will stop the next billing cycle.
